At the online Wabion Sustainability Summit on April 22nd, 2021, Plant-for-the-Planet, Google Cloud and Wabion already planted 420 more trees as part of Plant-for-the-Planet’s ‘Trillion Tree Campaign’. In the meantime we have expanded our reforestation project in Yucatán, Mexico with new initiatives in Latin America and Africa.
But that is not enough. On top of our everyday measures, which our colleague Ulrich Anderhub presents in the video, we are constantly setting new goals in the fight against the climate crisis.
No company uses more renewable energy than Google. Since 2017, Google has been buying more renewable energy than the global Google infrastructure consumes. However, since solar and wind energy are irregularly available, Google also occasionally purchases energy from non-renewable sources. By 2030, this is to be finally put to an end – and Google will become CO2-free without exception.
But Google is not limiting itself to its own services. Google also provides leading technologies in the fight against the climate crisis:
As a leading Google Cloud partner in the DACH region, Wabion enables companies to use these technologies (article only in German) and make their own contribution to the fight against the climate crisis.
