Or check out the breakout session at the Google Cloud Summit 2019. Together with Andy Jacob-Law from KAESER COMPRESSORS, Michael Walther and Nino Flück from Wabion give an in-depth look at the switch to Google Workspace, in particular the Change Management process:
KAESER COMPRESSORS has been supplying customers around the world with innovative products, services and complete systems for supplying production and work processes with compressed air as an energy source since 1919.
In order to facilitate the collaboration between the 7,000 employees according to the company motto “make more compressed air with less energy”, the family company introduced Google Workspace as a new collaboration solution while celebrating its 100th anniversary. Google Cloud Premier Partner Wabion ensured a smooth transition with both technology and Change Management expertise.
Thanks to constant innovation, KAESER COMPRESSORS has grown from a workshop to one of the largest manufacturers of compressors and compressed air technology. The third generation family company pursues a consistent Cloud Strategy to pave the way for future technologies such as Machine Learning and IoT. One pillar of this approach is a cloud-based collaboration and productivity solution that enables 7,000 employees and partners in 140 countries to work together efficiently and relieves the IT department of infrastructure tasks.

After the contract for the previous on-premise solution expired, KAESER COMPRESSORS evaluated various cloud-based approaches – and opted for Google Workspace, the collaboration and productivity solution from Google Cloud. As the leading Google Cloud Premier Partner in the DACH region, Wabion supported the migration to Google Workspace with technology and Change Management expertise.
Michael Walther
Managing Director, Wabion
Refining and specifying Google’s best practices for the particular needs of every customer, Wabion has successfully assisted companies such as TX Group, Koenig & Bauer, Conrad and Ferrum in their migration to Google Workspace. In addition to planning and guiding the technical migration, Wabion also successfully implemented a change management program at KAESER COMPRESSORS. This program included the identification of early adopters as Google Workspace advocates and the production of a comprehensive series of training videos for Google Workspace applications such as Gmail, Google Meet or Google Drive.
Wabion’s tailor-made method for Google Workspace migration: The right mix of project management competence, technical expertise and change management know-how is crucial for a successful Google Workspace migration. With this set of skills, Wabion guides its customers to the next levels in their digital transformation. In doing so, Wabion brings in its comprehensive Google Cloud Platform (GCP) expertise for the seamless integration of Google Workspace with other GCP offers such as Firebase, or BigQuery.
Guided by Wabion, the successful migration from KAESER COMPRESSORS to Google Workspace took place in a “Big Bang”. Over 14 TB of data from over 5500 users moved over one weekend. The seamless real-time collaboration with Docs, Slides, Sheets and other Google Workspace applications started on the following Monday. Thanks to the well-coordinated collaboration between Wabion and KAESER KOMPRESSOREN, the combination of technology and Change Management expertise, as well as the use of early adopters and new support formats such as a Google Meet “chat room”, the migration to Google Workspace went smoothly.
