Over 70% lower infrastructure costs with ten times higher operational efficiency. For the data analytics platform Gamaya, Wabion’s Google Cloud Platform (GCP) know-how bears fruit for sustainable agriculture. Read the full success story on the collaboration between Gamaya, Wabion and Google Cloud.
Israel Kehat
CTO, Gamaya
The Swiss start-up Gamaya is revolutionizing agriculture from the air: drones equipped with hyperspectral cameras scan industrial farms covering more than 25,000 football fields and deliver tens of thousands of images providing information about the condition of the fields and enabling targeted measures (pest control, fertilizer use, etc.).
In particular, developing countries benefit from the technology in order to meet their rising food needs in a sustainable way. As Gamaya reached its limits with the previous cloud provider for the storage, processing and evaluation of the huge amounts of data, Google Cloud came into play.“
If a data payload that used to take 10 minutes to process only takes a minute on Google Cloud, I don’t need to pay for 10 minutes on a virtual machine. It’s not about hardware profile differences; Google Cloud simply has a clearly better infrastructure than our previous provider.”
