Takeaways:
Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, more than six million people have already fled Ukraine. The UN refugee agency UNHCR has estimated that there are a further 3 million people in need of help on the ground.
jobaidukraine.com is a free job platform of the pro bono initiative “Traders help traders”. The two founders and entrepreneurs Marcus Diekmann and Christian Weis offer refugees from Ukraine a perspective in Germany. More than 15 volunteer developers from various companies and industries have come together to build and develop the job platform.
To optimize the technical foundation of the platform, the team in charge decided to move the platform to the Google Cloud – with Wabion – Part of Accenture as an experienced Google Cloud Partner on board.
Refugees from Ukraine can upload their CVs, certificates and other application documents via the job platform. To protect this sensitive data from hacker attacks and other potential threats, Wabion has set up a secure user management on the Google Cloud Platform. This secures the access of developers working on the job platform and ensures, among other things, the prevention of identity theft, which is very important from a compliance perspective. Google Cloud’s unique infrastructure ensures real-time monitoring of all activities and blocks hacker attacks in advance.
